Diary #76 The Wonderful Aftertaste of a Nourishing Activity

I am becoming increasingly aware of how my mind-state during any activity is carried through to the next one.

For example, if prior to a call I have been arguing with my son, I will start in an irritable state, whilst if we have been having fun, I will be energised and happy.


I am learning to use this to my advantage.  Prior to a situation which requires me to be at my best, I will intentionally choose to do a nourishing activity, be it an energising shower, listening to some great music, or going for a surf.  Almost always it has a remarkable impact on my mood and engagement.


One essential ingredient though: the activity needs to be done guilt-free; and even better with an attitude of 'knowing that this is the best way I can prepare’.
