5#  Flow State


Here are two things I noticed when being more mindful (observant) for a competition, in this case BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu).Mindfulness and Exercise #5 Flow State

Here are two things I noticed whilst being more mindful (tuned in) to achieving a flow-state, in this case through sparring in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. By "flow-state" I mean fully immersed, energised and present.

 

  • If I drop any desire to ‘think my way’ to victory I can find myself more easily in flow
  • The tail period after being in flow lasts longer if I stay tuned to my thoughts and feelings (metacognitive awareness).
