It's no surprise that you don’t though.
I know from experience that when someone is eagerly trying to persuade me it can backfire. A wift of neediness can be such a turn-off, even when I know they have my best interest at heart.
So what can I do?
I communicate my suggestion with an impartial attitude.
But how can I behave impartially when I care?
Being more intentionally-tuned-in or "mindful" can help. And, in my case, having a friend and colleague close enough to notice and tell me to chill out definitely does.
