Diary #212 Mindful Attitudes 6 of 8: 'Non-Striving'

"Stop trying so hard! Just take a chill pill."

Ok, that's exactly what I need to do. But do I want to hear it?

Anyway,  I am getting side-tracked.

If I want to me more mindful (aka more skilfully present) what does non-striving have to do with it?  Well, "striving" is about getting somewhere or something. Now don’t get me wrong, there is a time and a place, in fact plenty of them.

However, when it comes to tactful communication, letting go of striving can be very helpful. For example, if I want to impress my client, trying to say all the good things I've done may not be the best way.  Quiet cool confidence may be better.

One could say that non-striving draws me into the journey than the destination
